About James
Hello! I’m James Blackmore, an audiobook narrator based in the Greater Toronto Area.
My narration journey started with me as a fan of audiobooks. I discovered them in 2018 on long road trips for work and really got into how the narrator could bring the entire book and all its characters to life. I started reading and recording myself at home, wondering if I could ever deliver the same types of experiences my favorite audiobook narrators did.
Eventually I just decided to dive in. I have a background in public speaking, a knack for character voices and accents, a love for acting and performance, a passion for great stories and characters, and a technical background in audio engineering. I narrated my first book over the Christmas break in 2024 and never looked back.
When I’m not in the booth, I’m usually spending time with my wife and three boys, exploring nature, gaming, or learning something new.
